1-Day Equipment Operator Certification Courses
LSE Equivalent
Designed for supervisors and safety leaders, the Leadership Safety Training course provides the tools and knowledge to create and maintain a safe working environment — and understand your legislated obligations under the Alberta OHS Code.
Delivered through self-paced online study, participants complete four practical assignments: a Toolbox Talk, Field Level Hazard Assessment, Site Inspection, and Incident Investigation Report — the real documents used every day on the job site.
Geared toward supervisory positions, but valuable to all.
This online course covers the fundamentals of traffic control flagging in Alberta, including traffic control procedures, hand signals, communication, and personal safety. Upon successful completion, participants receive an AUSA Certificate of Completion recognized for flagging duties on Alberta worksites.
HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR SCHOOL
Most earthworks companies have seen enough operator school certificates to know which ones actually mean something on a resume, and which ones get quietly set aside. AUSA's Heavy Equipment Operator School was built differently: developed with input from working earthworks companies across Alberta, and taught by instructors who ran D11 dozers and 120-ton excavators before they ever picked up a whistle. This isn't a classroom simulation with a few hours of seat time tacked on. It's real machines, real seat time, and instruction from operators the industry already respects, so when a graduate's resume lands on a superintendent's desk, it doesn't get tossed.
AUSA's Heavy Equipment Operator School puts you or your team on a full working fleet, skid steer, excavator, and dozer, with direct one-on-one instruction. Every operator gets individual seat time, live radio coaching while they're in the cab, and hands-on correction in real time, not a video and a quiz.
All programs run 5 days, 8-hour days, with theory each morning, coffee breaks, and a lunch break.
